Module Outline
In this module, the students will be taught skills that are required in building practical quantum
technology systems and platforms. The module will focus on the skills in:
- programming: students will use the Python programming language in scientific context, such as analysing and fitting the data, plotting the graphs and interfacing the microcontrollers;
- microcontroller deployment: students will learn the operation of microcontrollers and be provided with stimulating experimentation opportunities based on open-source hardware.
- 3D CAD design: students will learn how to construct solid models, assemblies, and detail drawings using a feature-based parametric design CAD program.
Module learning outcomes
Use and deploy programming language (Python) in the original scientific context such as for plotting the graphs or programming microcontrollers.
Comprehend microcontroller chip architecture and hardware.
Design and critically analyse 3D components using CAD software.
