Performance Workshop (W3047)
15 credits, Level 5
Spring teaching
On this module, you'll develop your performance practice in both solo and ensemble settings through a series of thematically focused workshops. You'll build solo repertoire, form ensembles, and collaboratively decide on material to rehearse and perform.
Key areas of exploration include:
- performance communication and listening skills
- repertoire selection and rehearsal techniques
- performance preparation and expressivity
- critical perspectives on solo and ensemble practice.
The concept of an ensemble is approached broadly, encompassing formats such as string quartets, vocal trios, jazz bands, folk groups, rock or pop bands or electronic groups. There is no requirement to be able to read notated music and you're encouraged to draw on your unique musical background to creatively reimagine repertoire.
