On this module, you'll examine pedagogical approaches to learning in the early years, before exploring common nursery philosophies found in contemporary Britain. You'll investigate how these philosophies influence the modern Foundation Stage curriculum.
You'll dive into the debate between play-based learning and more formal approaches. You'll also explore the practitioner tools that support the approaches discussed, including:
- the use of provocations
- shared sustained thinking
- the characteristics of effective learning
- emotional wellbeing.
